Knowing what messages color and typography are communicating will shape how you employ them. This is an essential skill to have during this expansive period of media literacies. Get your fonts or colors wrong and you will send the wrong message. A good designer is aware that the message must be congruent. In other words, what is being said must match how it is being said. 

Of special note is the black screen used for this website. In addition, to providing a rather dramatic background, the black screen is considered eco-friendly since it is hypothesized to use less electricity than a traditional white screen.
