Assisted in collecting data for Latino Acculturation and Health Project, a research projected funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.  Also acted as the families’ social worker, advocating for them in the community by connecting them with needed resources.

 

 

 

09/2004-01/2005              Health Care Assistant, Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina

Clinical duties included Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) counseling, patient education on contraceptive methods and options counseling for pregnant women, phlebotomy, ultrasound tech, and assisting physicians with abortion procedures.  Clerical duties included filing, phone calls to patients, verification of chart documentation, and closing financial aspects of clinic at the end of the day.
