Statement of Teaching Philosophy

I believe that to be an effective teacher, we must come at each day of instruction from three angles. The first is preparedness, and this is something we have complete control over. A good teacher is always prepared, and experience only adds to this. The second, and perhaps the most important, is flexibility. A good teacher must be able to respond to changing needs in the classroom or laboratory and adapt their teaching styles to new technology and new students. Finally, good teachers must accept the feedback (and actively solicit it!) that their students provide. By being prepared, flexible, and responsive, the goals we as teachers set for our students should be easy for us to reach together.
