While information technology can be great for facilitating the rapid spread of potentially life-saving information, as seen last night, it can also be used to spread false information that does nothing but incite fear. I'm not sure who started the rumors, but, everyone who passed them on without confirming their validity certainly didn't help the inherent fear of the situation.

I agree that creating complex things is difficult, I can't even build a proper cube. Still, though, it's hard to see how they could make it easier without severely limiting what would be possible to create. Perhaps a set of menus with just the basic options? Oh well, Second Life is dying out anyway.

Yeah, there is a lot that sex stuff in Second Life. The thing I don't understand is why do people get on SL for avatar porn when there is real porn out there. That stuff should be banned from SL.

I can understand why people avoided this, but here goes. I think that people can just identify more with people that are like them. With a photography personality really cannot be determined, so they would go to the next available thing, appearance.

Sadly, this does lead to discrimination, but I wouldn't call it racism in a hateful kind of way.

I really like the Zune. Microsoft has done a really good job with the second iteration of the Zune hardware. They're even releasing the second version of the software to the first player.

Your essay was very well written. Are you planning on applying for an DHS internship postion next year? They are one of the only Intelligence agencies that I know of who are offering internships to freshman.

I think that the basic textures that SL provides for you reall limits what you can build. I found a lot of free textures when I went and checked out the freebie islands.

That's pretty cool. I'm sure there are other uses for that than just an AIM icon. I could think of using that in forums or other things that allow you to use an avatar. I'm really impressed with how well the animation is. This is a cool and unique service.

I totally agree with you on the difficulty of creating objects. SecondLife needs to drastically improve many areas, and creating objects is defintely up there.

Once again, this seems to indicate that a program SIMILAR to Second Life would be useful for this project. It works in theory, but runs under the untrue assumption that Second Life doesn't suck.
