| Ilwaco Long Beach, Washington | May 2006 |

We took to street again on the same day we visited Cannon Beach. This time we were off to another Beach called Long Beach. We didn't realize it was in the Washington State, until we crossed the border. Washington is the fourth state I have visited in the USA so far. There is this very long bridge over the Columbia river at Astoria. The Columbia meets the Pacific a few miles down the river.

The Ilwaco Long Beach was quite desolate, and not so crowded as Cannon Beach. There was a skeleton of a whale on display there.

We saw the sunset, or whatever was left of it because of the clouds, at Long Beach. Wrote our names on the sand, in English and all the languages we knew. The coast was getting misty as nightfall approached.

The port town of Astoria is in Oregon. Right across the bridge shown in the next photograph is the State of Washington.

A truly long bridge connecting both sides of the Columbia River. The Columbia meets the Pacific a few miles downstream.

The Sun and the clouds create a melancholic atmosphere.

My Canon and its "Tungsten" again, transmuting the setting sun and the sea.
