Weekly Lunch Fellowship Meetings

  • Purpose: CFSF Lunch Fellowship Meetings are held weekly for fellowship, prayer, evangelism, and to equip our members to better serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Schedule Overview:
Although the scheduled events remain flexible, we try to adhere to the following monthly schedule:

  • The first Thursday of the semester is a kick-off/strategy meeting where we try to fill in the calendar for the semester, and we discuss projects or themes that we wish to consider during the semester.
  • The first Thursday of each month is devoted to prayer. We begin with a short devotional, followed by prayer concerns, and then group prayer. Prayers can be for individual needs, but we attempt to focus our prayers on the campus, ministries on campus, and our CFSF ministry and its leaders.
  • On other Thursdays of each month, a speaker gives a 20 to 30 minute talk, followed by a time of discussion. Speakers are generally chosen from among the Fellowship, but occasionally outside speakers are invited to address a particular subject of interest to the group. Topics include book reviews, testimonials, etc., and should relate to being a Christian at Penn State.
  • Occasionally we have a "Spotlight on a Campus Ministry," where one of the campus ministry leaders and/or a student leader addresses the group about activities of the campus ministry. These meetings are mutually beneficial, as we look for ways to help each other and pray for each other.
  • The last Thursday of the semester is typically a time of fellowship (pizza and soda provided), and a time to reflect and celebrate on the accomplishments of the semester.
