and my favorite Impact Factor
I have prepared a display of graphic novels in the sciences for the Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library. It has facsimiles of Penn State Libraries' books by such authors and artists as Larry Gonick, Jay Hosler, Jim Ottaviani, and Tomas Bunk covering subjects from Mathematics through Chemistry and Physics. I also mention other graphic novels in our collection and at Schlow Centre Region Library
There are some online science comics I would like to mention here to supplement the display.
Scott McCloud, creator of Understanding Comics that explains sequential art and storytelling has created The Right Number, "a projected three part online graphic novella about math, sex, obsession and phone numbers presented in an unusual zooming format."
Environment Canada - Ontario Region has a website oriented to kids called Water Heroes. It is a comic about the environment of the Great Lakes, with manga style art.
