Hoovers Online provides proprietary company and industry information, SEC filings, plus reports on money management, career development, news, and business travel. You can search company overviews for descriptions of products, such as learning management systems. Hint: If you know one company, start with that to find other companies in the same industry.
If you have the company name, SIC Code or NAICS Code, you can search for detailed financial statements and industry data in Mergent Online or Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage.
You can search Google Patents or the US Patent and Trademark site for innovations and get a detailed description of how they work.
