Jim Kompanek
Master of GIS Program

Welcome

Welcome to my e-portfolio.  I'm currently in my first year of the Master of GIS program.

I'm an Archaeologist for Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc., a cultural resource firm based out of Lexington, Kentucky.  My fieldwork has entailed just about everything from Paleoindian to Historic sites across the eastern United States (Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York), as well the Late Neolithic/Early Copper Age in southeastern Hungary.  Archaeology is rapidly evolving with the introduction of GIS.  I am hoping to apply the skills I obtain in this program directly to the field.
