Spring 2014

The modes of production and means of circulation of art(ifacts) impact how we experience them.   To listen, watch, read, and ultimately make meaning from creative work of others depends, though not exclusively, on language, history, technology, culture, and media.  To try to understand how literature, film, music have been and continue to be received, it is helpful to think about production and circulation.   My classes all focus on the meanings of texts in our hands and in the hands of others.
