DRM

DRM - digital rights management - has gotten more interest since Steve Jobs posted a note about it. I still don't know what a good direction is to protect the content creator but avoid a product driven or vendor driven proprietary approach. One interesting idea, at least for music, is coming from a Canadian report. The idea, referred to as the Utility approach, is a modified subscription approach.

The idea is that an ISP would charge a small monthly fee and in return provide you access to all music it can. In theory this will allow the music to be delivered to any device you use with this ISP's service. Not a perfect fit for many reasons, but an interesting idea.
