Nursery is ready...

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Well, the nursery is finally ready.  Crib is all set up, mattress is in and sheet is on.  The quilt is hung on the wall, the changing table is ready for its first mess (well, once we get all the toys off of it...) and the dresser is completely chock full.  Not to mention the closet full of clothes.  I told y'all she had too many!!  :-)

Not too much to report really.  Things are going well, just like the last few posts.  We're heading to our last 2 week appointment on Friday, and will be starting our 1 week appointments.  So, she's almost here!!!

Michelle and I are in that phase of alternating "we're ready" and swinging all the way to "we'll never be ready" but we spend most of our time nearer the ready side.  This weekend will consist of getting the truck cleaned and putting the carseat base in the backseat.  Then, I'll be doing the same to Michelle's vehicle, so that we don't have to worry about switching them out if she needs to run somewhere and I have the truck.  We'll also be packing our hospital bag and putting the finishing touches on the nursery.  The finishing touches will mainly consist of getting the toys off of the changing table.....

Well, not too much else to say here.  I've put more pics of the nursery in the usual spot, so check them out if you want!  http://www.personal.psu.edu/iyh3/baby/

...and yes, we know to take the bumper pads out.  They just look so cute in for pics...

Baby shower...

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Michelle's baby shower was this past Sunday, May 3.  I didn't go.  :-)  Now, don't think that I wasn't involved...while she and and many others were having lunch at Centre Hills and she was opening presents to Maddison; I was at home...putting together the stroller / carseat combo travel system.

After that 10 minutes was over I watched "Military Commanders at War" on Discovery HD and waited on her phone call to come load up the car and the truck.  :-)  Hey, it was a rainy, dreary day for the most part, so I enjoyed a little time with the animals indoors.

Once it was all over and I got the call, I ran up and loaded up the vehicles and came back home.  The rest of the night was spent putting together various baby items (pack 'n play, etc) and going through everything that we had received for Maddison.  This girl already has WAY too many clothes!  She already has a 1/2 full closet and has filled up a drawer or two of her dresser.  Granted, most of them won't last the first 6 months, but we have our pick until then.  :-D  We went through everything and made sure everything was marked off the registry, so those are accurate again.

Thank you to everyone that gave us a gift either before or at the shower.  We appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness more than we can ever express.  They say it takes a village....so thanks for starting to be ours!  We are truly blessed to have the friends and family that we do.

Here are some pics from the shower: http://www.personal.psu.edu/iyh3/baby_shower/

On the health front, everything is perfectly fine!  Michelle has a little swelling, and a little joint pain / stiffness as her body prepares for birth.  But we understand that those area all normal and her vitals continue to be perfectly fine, so we have no concerns at this point.

As an aside, I shot some test video with the camera I mentioned in a previous post.  Look, I'm a geek and I love my electronic toys, what do you expect?  So, if you want a sneak preview of the video quality you'll get with videos of Maddison, check 'em out: http://www.personal.psu.edu/iyh3/puppy/movies/test_movies/
