In addition to my job, I am involved with a number of community and campus organizations. I have always been involved with organizations that give back to the community. It's a value that I hold dearly and I love to see the results of helping others.
African American Read-In - assisted Penn State Altoona in bringing this national Read-in program in 2000 to Altoona. It is held the first Sunday and Monday of February. Students, staff and faculty who are interested in participating can contact me or Dr. Megan Simpson at mbs12@psu.edu.
African American Heritage Project of Blair County - an organization whose mission is to tell a story of the community as seen through the social and cultural issues of: religion, politics, entertainment, sports, entrepreneurs, education, employment, industry, agriculture and professional occupations. The goal of the Project is to document this story in such a manner as to serve future generations.
