Let me introduce myself, I'm Heidi Webb, a new resident of State College. The decision to move to Pennsylvania from San Antonio, Texas was not an easy one but it was the right one! I am a first year PhD student here at Penn State interested in Human Computer Interaction and Educational Technology. Prior to being here I worked at San Antonio College as an Assistant Professor. I taught C++, game programing, program logic and design courses, for those of you who are wondering, I did enjoy teaching but I desperately wanted to learn more.
My passion for learning comes from my former students. They have been my inspiration these past 8 years. So many of the kids I taught never thought they would make it through high school let alone a 2-year college program. Some of them didn't, but there were many that did go on to earn their bachelor degree's and even their master's. Their determination to keep going no matter what others thought they could or couldn't do was not lost on me all those years. I'm looking forward to getting to know my new classmates this semester and starting my new studies.
