Dr. Qiu teaches courses in Business Process management, Enterprise Service Computing, Enterprise Integration, Software Engineering, Web-based Systems, Distributed Systems, Computer Architecture/SOA, Computer Security, Web Security, and System Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with focus on Enterprise Information Systems and a Ph.D. (minor) in Computer Science both from The Pennsylvania State University.  Dr. Qiu’s research interests include Service Science and Informatics, Service Operations and Management, Enterprise Innovation and Satisfaction Modeling, Process and Data Mining, Enterprise Integration, Enterprise Service Computing, and Control and Management of Manufacturing Systems.

Dr. Qiu is the Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Services Operations and Informatics and Service Science, and an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on System, Man and Cybernetics and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics. He also serves on Editorial Boards of several other international journals.

 

Dr. Qiu is the founding Chair of the INFORMS Service Science Section.
