Welcome to the website of Gordon N. Fleming!

As a retired PSU physics prof I keep my hand in the game with research at a leisurely pace (an oxymoron?) and teaching one or two short courses a year for mostly senior citizens in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). My research interests are primarily focused on Lorentz Covariant Quantum Theory with a heightened awareness of General Relativity, Quantum Gravity, Statistical Physics and the Foundations of Quantum Mechanics. I also read a bit in mathematics and philosophy and, from time to time, I may have something to say here in those fields. I will even allow myself the pleasure of voicing half baked ideas constrained only by an effort at satisfying that hobgoblin, consistency, and a prohibition against dogma.
A CV of sorts:
Born: 04/14/36, Pittsburgh, PA
Langley H.S. 50 - 54
Univ. of Pittsburgh, 54 - 58, B.S.
Univ. of Pennsylvania, 58 - 63, Ph.D.
Univ. of Washington, 63 - 65, Post Doc.
Pennsylvania State Univ., 65 - 95, Prof. of Physics
Those words above my CV were written way back in 2009, I believe, and in all that time I've never said a word here about mathematics or philosophy! I think the reason has been a hesitancy to say anything until I had a polished tract to offer. Well, enough of that foolishness! Time to make some statements and polish be damned! My first offering is tame enough and self explanatory, but it is, I believe, a minority view.
