May is Motorcycle Awareness Safety Month in PA

2.

HB 471 – Noise Control (opposed) – Sound of motorcycle (mc), nobody shall modify the mc headers or pipes.  This is a “behavioral problem” so please police yourself and others.

Introducing legislation to legalize marijuana.

OSAL – Steen presented @ P.V., Hal presented to S.C. 2/24, Bellefonte 3/6, S.C. 3/30.  MSF and Riders Edge of HD are tempted to influence SMRO’s safety and awareness programs.  They are pro-helmet.  Report from Somerset & 2 from Green County.  In contact with other states S&A officers in an effort to improve and share our program with other states.

Old Business

 

1.

State Pool Shoot – Thanks to Dana (gifts) & Mule (collecting $84 for Bike PAC).  Districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 participated.  1st – David Brown (Fayette County), 2nd – Brian Woods (B.E. Mtn.), 3rd – Christina Poretta (Westmoreland).  Question:  Can we maybe go to 3 elimination??

2.

Bike raffle – Sell tickets.  Bike is at 234 Motosports (KIinger’s business). 

3.

Dave Love sold 100 tickets – Winner of hoodie from February sales.  No others turned in.

4.

Road Captains meeting rescheduled for Wed. 3/25/09 @ Pazul’s @ 7pm

Passed paper around to contribute ideas for chapter rides – some suggestions included Gold/Platinum Star ride, Amish ride, Beaver Springs ride, and White Rose Hill Climb in York.
