New Business ideas

1.

Officer nominations- can begin nominating next month, consider throwing your hat into the ring if you’d like to become an officer; Kim- feel free to ask any questions about the position

2.

Readshaw Raiders- we receive gun raffle tickets to sell, in the past we’ve sold about 5 tix and donated $300, at this point the monuments have been restored and they are building a trust for future repairs and maintenance; the chapter can purchase the raffle tickets for $100, IF we with the gun we can decide what to do with it, possibly use it as a fund raiser; motion made by Steve to purchase the raffle tickets

3.

MOM- Mike Roan for stepping up to help with the raffle bike at various events including the Bellefonte Cruise

4.

Treasury Audit- need 3 volunteers; Curt S, George F and Don G, thank you!

5.

Special Guest Speaker- Charles Umbenhauer- spoke about: helmet issue going quite well, losing sponsors each year; PennDOT and BikePAC working together; need PAC to get things done, in place since 1986, $58,000 in the bank and spend about $50,000 per year; Rick Geist, chair of transportation cmt met to try to change license plate law so MCs can mount vertically, PennDOT on board but State Police have new plate reading equip that may hold things up; state budget passed on time for first time in 9 yrs; go on the Gettysburg ride, it’s worth it, only $10 including dinner; Mike R- what’s the status of the traffic light legislation? Charles- currently stuck because the original sponsor is no longer on the transportation cmt; MoonDog- local magistrate Carmine Prestia would be inclined to look favorably upon a motorcyclist who came before him in court for this infraction; Ape Hangers- there are no height restrictions in PA; Relayed story about how Hal was instrumental in getting auxiliary lighting bill passed unanimously; thank you Charles!  It was great to have you at our meeting!
