House
voted 191/0 in favor of HB563, civil liability issue for hosts of the state
motorcycle safety course, now goes to Senate; Dan Frankel is looking for
co-sponsors to reinstate a mandatory helmet law; Guest speaker, Jeff Steiner
running for County Commissioner, has a Libertarian streak and supports our
position on the helmet law, says our support for the state motorcycle safety
course is an excellent way to promote ABATE and makes us look responsible,
currently on the Board of Education in Bellefonte and the board of the YMCA,
looking forward to the opportunity to serve the community, works well with others;
Mike R-What is happening with cell phone legislation? Dead issue at this
time; Danny S- a federal motion to prohibit the NTSB from lobbying states for
helmet laws has support; Steen- we can’t appear complacent on the helmet
issue |
