HB563 limiting civil liability for owners of property who host the state motorcycle safety course is now out of the transportation committee and will go to the house, which convenes on Feb 28th; Brian-will they be increasing the places that host the safety course, answer-the passage of this bill will help with that

Webmaster- pics from the Christmas party have been posted; will post the event schedule when it becomes available; contact MD with related information and links that he can post; Kim- have not yet received the event list from the SVBT summit; Radar- can we get a reminder email prior to the monthly meeting?, Bill A will send one out

                                   

Old Business

 

1.

Van for Vets- Steve L- no date set yet for photo op/check presentation, actual check will be mailed to Dept of Disabled Veterans; giant prop check shown that will be used at photo op; Curt- is Post 779 donating, Steen will find out, possibly coordinate a photo op with them?

2.

L&L- Cathy- met a lot of nice people, made contact with treasurers from other chapters, learned about her position; Bill A- was a well-run program, learned a lot, food was great; Curt- attended workshops on Facebook, OSAL (Hal’s last official L&L presentation), MRF and public relations, it’s worth going, chili cook-off was a success; Steen- attended LC class which promoted increased connection with local legislators, suggested inviting them to meetings and having appreciation events; Steve- went to the How to Put On a Successful Event class by Chinklacamoose, was better than last year; Radar- re: Facebook, for a chapter page, keep info relevant, it’s not a place for personal soap boxes; MoonDog- manage what you put on your personal page, it’s a public domain, willing to set up a chapter page; Speed- Worm (who was in attendance at this mtg) received the Golden Quill Award for his newsletter contributions, Worm- thanked Emma for being his proof-reader

Bike Raffle- Jody- working with Dubois HD, they still have the Iron they purchased back from us last year, so if we get the yellow Iron this year, we will not have the buy-back option, which means we can’t offer the $5000 cash option prize on the ticket; here are our bike raffle options for this year: buy last year’s Iron for $7000 with no buy-back, buy the yellow Iron for $7500 with no buy-back option, buy the 883 Super Low in Cool Blue for $8000 with a buy-back of $6500; Christy- we’ve already voted to not do the second prize of $500 and third prize of $250, saving us that money

4.

CPR- Bill A- certification cancelled for this month because a new procedure is out and he will be certified to teach it in April, so CPR training/certification has been moved to April mtg, sign-up in March

5.

Wild Dream Team- Barry B- no report as of yet, will have report for March mtg

6.

Christmas Party- Kim- P&L, income $710 ticket sales, $397 BikePAC raffles, total $1107; expenses $780 food/beverages, $150 DJ, raffle items $154.67, total $1084.67; profit $22.33

 

New Business ideas

 

1.

Physical Altercation Rules- Mule- in light of the altercation that occurred at the Christmas party, we have created rules; 1st offense non-admittance to a minimum of one chapter sponsored event, 2nd offense non-admittance to chapter sponsored events for a minimum of one year, 3rd offense incident will be reported to State Board of ABATE of PA for consequences at their discretion in accordance with state Corporate Operating Procedures; MoonDog-what are other chapter’s rules, Radar-each chapter has their own

2.

Bike Show Cmt- new cmt formed, includes Kenny W, Kim V, Curt S, Danny S, Dan P, Bill A

3.

Member of the Month Suggestion Box- there will be a suggestion box for MOM at the sign in table with slips to fill out, please submit your ideas for MOM, we look forward to your suggestions!

4.

MOM- for February is Rachael Focht!!  Thank you for your work volunteering for chapter audits, committees and taking care of the bike raffle tickets last year!  We appreciate your help and your positive, fun attitude!
