OSAL-Highlanders Chapter presented at the Juniata Valley Senior Citizens Center on 7/27

2.

District Rep-John attended Cambria Summit mtg last Wed; Jacks Mtn Chapter is still functioning-want to make their chapter work; at the recent Grand Board mtg, Lynn Wesley made a motion to allow colors at Hazen, saying it was discrimination to not allow them, motion was voted down, Hal-Lynn’s vote was the only one in support of her motion, John Hall-if the issue is brought up again, it must be under old business; Radar-Hazen is a private party, absence of colors is to avoid conflicts and police intrusion, Natalie-is there a way to for general membership to voice opinions to the state officers; general consensus at this mtg supported no colors at Hazen

Products-women’s shirts on the way; koozies, sweatshirts (including zip-ups), long and short sleeve Ts available

Webmaster-Pics and vids from Bike Show are on the site, will add winners from Bike Show events; updated events list; adding article about Speed; in process of creating a MOM page; open to suggestions

                                   

Old Business

 

1.

Bike Show-Profit & Loss Statement done, Bike Show made $1117.67, which includes $201 for BikePac; MANY thanks to all who helped pull it together: Brian, Rachael, Dan, Bob, Steve, Ross, Cathy for working the gate; Speed, Judy for selling raffle tickets; Hal for getting the trophies; Steen for getting T-shirt sponsors; Linda for helping sell 50/50s; John for helping with supplies and set-up; Curt for staying up all night to make the best pig ever; Mule for helping all day long with anything that needed to be done; and to the committee, Sandy-sponsors, Steve-advertising like crazy, Danny-making an awesome flyer and running around all day, Bill-kicking butt on getting sponsors and selling tickets, Kenny-FOR HAVING THE IDEAS AND VISION TO CREATE AN AWESOME BIKE SHOW AND A FOUNDATION TO BUILD ON FOR FUTURE EVENTS!!; suggestions made: Nick-can we include under 21 for at least part of the event, Vicky-no dogs

2.

Toy Run-55 bikes, 77 riders attended (down from last year), raised $1239, 270 toys and had 70+ door prizes (all up from last year), 30 attended the pig roast following the ride, which came to $305 collected; $17 was collected at the pig roast to go to Joel toward the beer; thanks to Marie Haywood & Tony Ricardi from Forever for doing the live remote; thanks to Chris & Patti from Extreme for hosting and for splitting the cost of the live remote ($375 total) with the Salvation Army; thanks to Shirley Snyder/Mountain Valley Diner for a great meal, Nick & Sally for coordinating, Nick for the route, Brick for making copies, releases and donating the beer ($74), Steve for PR, Tim & Colleen for collecting a lot of toy donations, Natalie for organizing toys & donations, Vicky & Captain for staying behind for set-up & tear-down, Law Dogs and volunteers for traffic control, Mule Nick and Bill A for helping set-up, Patti and Helena for opening up that day; if you have put up any posters or signs for the Toy Run, please collect them;  Mule-suggestion was made to give the $100 deposit given to Shirley back to her, Curt made motion to give Shirley the $100 deposit, seconded by George, motion passed; Natalie-maybe ride over as a group to the Mtn Valley Diner to drop off the check; discussion about disappointment over low turn-out from the chapter, Steen-some had to work or had other obligations, Radar-attendance is a problem all over; lengthy discussion about whether or not this is an official Centre Line Riders event, was determined that it is not an official CLR event, it is a Salvation Army event supported by CLR, Law Dogs and Mended Wings, Joel-there is a legal issue between “sponsored by” and “supported by”, supported by means no liability at the event; lengthy discussion ensued about conflicts between past and current officers, John Hall made a motion to drop the subject, was not seconded;

Grange Fair-Kim- sign-up sheet passed for volunteers to help set up and work shifts at the booth; Rachael-contact her or Brian about raffle tickets, need to be turned in the first day of the fair for anyone who has signed out tickets

October Fest-committee will be meeting

New Business ideas

 

1.

Readshaw Raiders donation- $300 has been our donation in the past; John Hall-Harry Readshaw is important to our cause; Steen-monies collected go to restoring monuments in Gettysburg; Daygo has been the RC for this ride in the past, Hal will RC this year

2.

Radar-nominations for State Officers must be in by 3rd Saturday of October; John Hall-number of votes for State Officers go to Popcorn; for chapter elections, just the results go to the state; for District Rep, number of votes go to John Hall; Radar nominated Mule for Chapter President, Mule accepted; nominated Curt for Chapter Treasurer, Curt will consider; nominated Kim for Chapter Secretary, Kim accepted

3.

MOM- Congratulations Vicky Koch!!!  Thank you for all you do to support the Chapter, your active and involved in chapter events, have held office in the past and always have ideas to share.  We appreciate you!
