OSAL: Given by Natalie Hallock in Hal’s absence, Hal & Peggy Snyder went to PennDOT’s Dist 9 Safety Summit on 12/16/09 in Hollidaysburg, about 50 people attended, topics addressed included elimination of “tar & chip” roadways and wire guard rails, and the prompt removal of gravel, shale and cinders from roadways after the winter season; Hal also volunteered to be on a special safety committee that will have TV coverage; the Safety Director will be contacting Hal regarding an OSAL presentation for AARP Zone 9

Products: Given by Keith Muhlbauer, Joel & Melissa Brickell have stepped down as products officers, asked that anyone who wanted to step into the position speak up or see him; on hand at this meeting long sleeve Ts with the Centre Line Riders logo (designed by Hal) on the back, ABATE of PA on one sleeve, flames on the other sleeve and Centre Line Riders on the left chest, cost $20; Steen discussed the benefits of having a chapter logo like the one designed by Hal so Centre Line Riders can have a unified appearance at various events.

                                   

Old Business

 

1.

Small Games of Chance: Kim V, cannot use Post 779 as Chapter address because they have a SGOC, can use Roadhouse address; also need a Special Permit in order to raffle off any item with a value of greater than $500; SGOC costs $100, Special Permit costs $25; motion by Bill Allison to spend $125 for SGOC and SP, 2nd by Mike Roan, motion passed

2.

Meeting Place: Keith, Roadhouse is available for meetings Saturday mornings beginning at 8am, can use side room and be done with meeting before restaurant opens for business; motion by Stew Koontz to have meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Legion Post 779 (current location) at 7pm through May, 2nd by Greg Ritter, motion passed; Mike Roan volunteered to stand in as Sgt at Arms as Brian Focht is unable to be at Wednesday meetings.

3.

Bike Raffle: motion by Kenny Wasson to table issue until we have received the SGOC, 2nd by Steve LaMar, motion passed

4.

District Pool Shoot: Daygo Lanager, all Centre Line Riders were eliminated at Districts, which makes the first year that there will be no Centre Line Riders participating in the State Tournament; thanks to Mike Roan, Steen Petersen, Hal Hallock, Daygo Lanager and Earl Cain for representing CLR!; Mike Roan, new chapter Jack’s Mountain is sending 5 shooters to States

5.

L&L: Keith, Tom Potter of the Roadhouse donated a lighted bar sign to auction at L&L

6.

Pictures for chapter collage: Keith, please bring any chapter related photos you have to Hal at the February meeting; Natalie, please bring photos of chapter members and events where people’s faces are clearly visible so they can be seen in the collage.

7.

DJ Emery: Keith, we need to check past meeting minutes to determine the amount of money donated by chapter members to DJ Emery; discussed ideas about how to utilize the money for DJ’s benefit: Speed, the Marine Corps League is handling DJ’s donations, ask the Nittany Leatherneck Detachment for suggestions; Vicki, set up a trust for his baby, idea supported by Keith; Linda, new members may want to contribute to this effort, possibly pass the hat at the next meeting once we have figured out the amount already collected.

 

New Business ideas

 

1.

Chili Cook-off at L&L: Keith, there will be a chili cook-off Friday evening of L&L, $1 bills are votes, money will go to Bike Pac; prize for best and worst chili;

2.

Member of the Month: Keith, original idea by Stew Koontz, at monthly officers’ meeting the officers will choose a Member of the Month, someone who deserves special recognition for their time, effort and dedication to the chapter and chapter events; the MOM will be recognized at the monthly meeting, receive a chapter T-shirt and a write-up in between the lines;  this month’s MOM is John Knarr, he has gone above and beyond with his involvement in the bike show, Hazen and Grange Fair, bringing his trailer, supplies and creature comforts so that we all have a great time.  Thank you John!

Chapter “stuff”: Keith, the chapter has various items used at meetings, events, etc., such as the chapter flag, ballots & poker run sheets, please bring any and all materials to the February meeting, if you will not be at the meeting, please call Keith, Bill or Curt to make arrangements; Curt and Kim will store chapter items at their house.

4.

First Aid/CPR: Bill Allison volunteered to teach basic first aid to interested chapter members as this is beneficial info/skills to have with riding season approaching; session will be immediately following the March meeting and will take about 1 hour.

5.

Website: Keith, updates needed regarding new officers’ contact info; MoonDog has laptop with him, will meet with officers after the meeting today to update

State Pool Tournament: 2/13/2010 at the PA Roadhouse, 12:30: although we don’t have participants “representing” please show up to support the event; CLRs are in charge of security, Mule will be showing up at noon.

2.

L&L: Jan 22-23; Steen, previously blocked rooms at the Holiday Inn have opened up from other chapters who didn’t need all the rooms they blocked

2.

SVBT is having a Mardis Gras Party on 2/27/10 at 8pm, $15 person, $20 couple, must be 21; Mike Roan, attended this party in the past and it’s a good time

3.

Chinklacamoose is hosting a Sweet Heart Dance for Madison, an infant amputee suffering meningitis, 2/13/10

4.

New Bike Night this year at Northland Bowl on Martin St in State College, Thursday evenings beginning in April, $1 per guest will be donated to ABATE
