My mother recently became unemployed from a company that she had put in
25 years with, and she was devastated. At first, she was obviously
worried about losing her income and had to apply for unemployment
insurance, but that was not the only crisis she would face. She began
to realize that she would lose her health insurance benefits within
just a few weeks, and she knew that she would have to do something to
get by. Her company sent her some information about continuing her
insurance, but the cost was really high, and she didn't know how she
could afford it on her newly reduced income. She has a little bit of
savings, but didn't want to have to spend it, especially now that she
might need some of it to live on. She found out that there was an
option through some health insurance companies to purchase temporary
medical insurance that would serve the same purpose of
insuring her in
between jobs and would cost her a lot less. I gave her the name of an
insurance company that one of my friends had used to purchase US
Student Abroad Health Insurance, and she was able to pick up
a policy
with a decent premium. It wasn't cheap but just cheaper. Then she saw
some money saving tips on the news, and they were talking about
shopping around for all your insurance, saying that you can find some
really good deals right now, and perhaps save some money on your car
insurance, as well as other insurance policies that you currently have.
Well, this got my mother thinking, so she decided to go online and
research Texas car
insurance and sure enough, she found a much better
deal on her car insurance as well. Since all this went so well, she
decided to look into other ways she could save money and found a deal
on her cable internet, phone, and cable TV for just $99 per month. This
would save her about $100 per month on those bills. She actually got on
such a kick that saving money became her new hobby, since looking for
employment was not going so well, she continued to challenge herself to
save more money and was succeeding. Now she shops non-stop bargains,
and both she and I can't even believe how much she has been able to
save. I guess for now this will be her job, finding a way to live on
the money she has without dipping into her savings. So far it seems to
be a success.
Diet pills are
something that I used to be hesitant about. I guess I never really
believe those ads that you see on TV or in magazines where someone
takes the diet pill and then they are 30 pounds lighter. It seems to me
that diet pills need to be advertised in a more realistic way. But I
guess people are buying into them anyways so it probably doesn't matter.
For me though, I realized that diet pills can work as long as they are used as a supplement to diet and exercise and not just as a replacement. I feel like too many people use diet pills as a replacement and then don't eat right and don't exercise and then they wonder why the pill isn't working.
So I decided to try a diet pill. I actually have lost a few pounds. I normally eat right and exercise regularly (besides maybe drinking and going out on the weekends). So I didn't really change my eating habits or exercising, I just made sure to keep up the pace. I ended up losing 6 pounds I think over 4 weeks, so that's pretty good for not having to change my habits at all. I guess diet pills really can work as long as you are taking them correctly and not just depending on them like they are some sort of magic pill. I feel like a lot of people also lose the weight when they are taking a diet pill then once the weight is gone they stop taking it and then they don't understand why they have gained the weight back. Once you lose weight you need to adjust to that weight you are at. You have to eat fewer calories than you did before when you weighed more and you also need to make sure you continue to diet and exercise.
Diet pills aren't magic. They don't lose the weight for you while you sit there and pig out in front of the TV. But they can help you to lose the weight that you have been aiming for as long as you do it the right and safe way. You need to talk to your doctor first and make sure you map out a healthy diet and exercise plan. Things worth having usually aren't easy to get so if you want to look good you have to work hard for it.
