Studying abroad is something that I and a lot of my friends are doing. While I have a really hard course load and can't really do it during the school year, a lot of my friends can and are. It makes me so jealous because when I want to study abroad it will have to be over the summer and I will have to miss out on spending that time with my friends, but I am pretty sure that it will be worth it. My friends on the other hand are for the most part, all studying abroad this year. One of them is in Barcelona right now and is traveling all over. The other one is in Ireland (which really makes me jealous) and another is in Italy. They all travel all over and see sights and go out and party and even meet up with each other sometimes. They are there for the whole semester and I am so jealous and also excited for them. My other two friends are going to Barcelona next semester (not together) but they are so excited and that is all that they talk about. So this year I started looking into places that I would want to go and getting material together so I can go over the summer this summer or next.
A few places that I am considering are Paris, Germany and Barcelona. A lot of my friends went to Barcelona and had such a great time, or they are going next semester and I have heard so much about what they are planning to do when they get there and it all sounds really exciting, plus I speak Spanish so it would probably be the best choice for me.
However Germany and Paris are to other places that I really am considering. The problem with Germany though is that I do not know one word. I thought it would be easy to find a Brooklyn dentist, but actually finding a New York dentist was not an easy task. I mean, I guess if you have someone refer you to a dentist that would make it simple, but here I was with severe pain coming from my back molar and it was getting so bad that I almost couldn't stand it anymore. I am familiar with what types of gifts people give each other for their anniversaries, but not what someone from outside of the relationship might give. Do children typically give their parents anniversary gifts? My parents were not married long enough for me to do that, but I would probably want to get them something VERY special if they were still married today. Especially since I know how fleeting marriage can be. I think people who stay married for a long time diserve extraordinary gifts like trips to the moon or something. Ok so let me just imaginge what life would be like if my mommy and daddy still loved each other. Ho hum what a beautiful word. Before I snap back into reality I will imagine what I would give them. Well not much because I am always broke, but statistic show that families that stay married have more money so in my dream world I have lots of money too so this is going to require some more imagination. Hold on let me think....Uuuum. You know what? No matter how beautiful the world is or how much endless amounts of cash you may have, buying anniversary gifts for a couple is not easy. Maybe it is because I can not imagine my parents together so let me try thinking about getting my dad and his third wife something for their next anniversary of which I have no idea when that is, but anyway. Ok I know they love each other very much and will probably never get divorced and that is a beatiful thing so maybe I would get them a really nice cuddly blanket to curl up with together on the sofa while they watch movies. Ok so choosing anniversary gifts for other couples is easier when they are actual couples. I get it now. That was not so bad. I wonder what my dad got for her this year and what she got for him. I will have to ask them some day. If I was married would like to get gifts every year that reflected things my husband most enjoyed sharing with me that year; that or trips...long expensive trips to exotic places! Jewelry is always nice too. I love giving and recieving gifts so I am going to have to get married now so there is another event I have for gift exchange.
