I have spent so many years of my life on diets that it isn't funny. Losing weight for me has been an on again off again struggle for me, and not to mention a very costly venture. I have been on Weight Watcher's, Jenny Craig, the South Beach Diet, Atkins, and even the cabbage soup diet for a while. I have seen the pounds leave and I have seen them return again with a few more tacked on for good measure. Finally frustrated, I considered getting gastric bypass surgery, however, my doctor said that I wasn't over weight enough for it. Well, that was a kick in the head. All my life I had been fat, but now I was being told that I wasn't fat enough?! Needless to say, I wasn't considering putting on another 40 lbs just to be able to get the surgery, so I needed to come up with another answer. I spoke to my doctor and she recommended a strict diet, not cutting anything out, just changing my eating habits and an exercise program. Well, I did just what we had outlined together and I returned a month later and weighed in at 2lbs lighter. Needless to say she thought I wasn't following the plan, but truly I was and when she told me that I had only lost two pounds in a whole month, I cried. I think then she knew that I had been really trying. She told me that she would prescribe me some diet pills and check back with me in about a month. She told me that I still needed to stick with the diet and exercise program that I was doing but that she thought that I needed a little extra help, and that she felt that taking these diet pills would really do the trick. Well, she was right. Finally I began getting some results, I wasn't weighing myself, but I could see myself getting smaller and my clothes getting bigger. When I returned to her office a month later, I was 15lbs lighter and 100% happier. I have continued to lose weight on this program and I am now 5lbs away from my goal. I have more energy and confidence now and am glad that I asked my doctor for help.
