Every college student knows that sometimes things can get a bit rough
around the edges around here when you are having your fun. IN the fall
when it's football season and everything is fun and everyone is doing
it, there is no telling what kind of stuff can happen. I have never
personally gone too far with my fun because I am of course, underage.
But Some people that I am very close with had some trouble this past
fall when our team did well one night.
The background on these two guys is nothing interesting. You could say
that they had the all-American upbringing in that they had anything
they wanted and lived in the suburbs; all of that stuff. I met them at
the beginning of the fall and they showed me around town and let me
hang out with them the whole time. It was really fun for me.
Unfortunately for these two guys, who had gone to the same high school
and did everything together, they had a bit of a problem. They were
pretty big drinkers and I think that that is saying something from my
perspective when I am surrounded by drinkers. These two were much worse
than many others I have met. It's also not like I have seen them in
some bad places, but they are like this every single time that they
drink and it turns a lot of potential friends away from them pretty
quickly.
So last fall they were at the football game and our team won. They
aren't really huge sports fans but they were drunk when they went in
and drunk when they came out. Somehow in the course of the night, these
two guys had managed to blow all of their money at the bars and at
various parties around town. I am not talking just their spending money
but I mean all of it. Don't ask me how, they don't even know. So anyway
these guys had to get themselves a cash advance to
pay back their bills. They each got a check advance
for their rents and a payday
advance so when their next work checks came around they
were asking me for some money for ramen noodles.
Some of us take it too the extreme when we're out here, but most are
smarter than that.
