My partner and I are huge fans of Valentine's day.
We both love to just go all out and celebrate right.
Some of our motivation is about love of each other,
and the other half is about making valentine's day
like our second christmas, except the gifts are
supposed to be personal and not just like socks and
books. We always plan to go out to a nice restaurant
and don't even consider the bill when we eat there
because we both know this is only a once a year type
of event. It's also one of probably three times a
year that I have a real excuse to look nice when we go
out. With two kids it is usually my motivation to
just look as good as I can with the resources and time
available. On Valentine's day, we make time to make
ourselves look sexy or handsome. This year is not any
different because we are going to Philadelphia to have
dinner and we are renting our first hotel room in
almost four years. We have reservations at this
amazing moroccan restaurant along the river in old
city. That's also another one of our rules about the
holiday; wherever we eat, it must be some kind of
ethnic food. Also, when it comes to gifts, neither of
us like the heart-shaped box of chocolates or the
roses, we like the real romantic gifts that we usually
use for appearance enhancement. So this year Liz got
me a new pair of dress shoes to wear for the diner
celebration and the club we want to go to afterward. I
got her Prevage MD
which is a face cream
she asked
for, and this little machine called a clarisonic.
She
is kind of obsessive about her skin and her appear to
the point where she went and got some kind of Fraxel
Laser surgery. I don't think she looks like she has
aged a day since I met almost nine years ago. That
may be because I haven't been away from her for more
than a couple of weeks straight in all of these years.
