FIN 414 - Financial Trading and Applications

This course examines financial tools, theory, and technology.  We first review and discuss statistical tools and theories in financial markets. We then use these tools and theories to construct trading strategies and to value financial instruments in the equity, option, and fixed income markets. We conclude by discussing approaches for evaluating performance of these and other strategies.  Throughout the course we consider the challenges of using financial tools, theories, and models in practice.  Classes are interactive and make extensive use of Excel, FactSet, Bloomberg, @Risk, Morningstar and other resources available in the trading room. FIN 531 - Financial Management (for Masters in Accounting program)

This course focuses on valuation. Our goal is to develop tools for evaluating almost any type of investment opportunity.  Most days will consist of both a morning and an afternoon session. The morning session will be an in-class discussion regarding some aspect of valuation.  The afternoon session will be a “lab” in which we will work through a set of problems. FIN 405 - Advanced Financial Management

This course focuses on valuation. We will examine the valuation of projects, companies, and corporate securities. Along the way, we will discuss capital budgeting, real options, Monte Carlo simulation, financial statement analysis, financial forecasting, estimating the cost of capital, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and much more.
