HTML DOCUMENT WITH ENDNOTES

These few lines1 are done as follows: text in Garamond 14, references in superscript "12," notes in 12, and their references in superscript "12" as well (since "10" comes out no smaller). I am inserting2 a number of endnotes3 with their references.4 And now I am merely adding enough filler text lines in order to move the endnotes out of immediate view, so that the jumping back and forth -- enabled by hyperlinks to previously inserted bookmarks -- will be more evident.5 Even if this procedure is somewhat time-consuming, I am still happy to see that a document with notes can be used as an html page.6

1 The number of lines may change as I edit this page.

2 Since apparently nothing prevents me from doing so.

3 Footnotes would serve equally well.

4 The point is to be able to go from the references to the notes and back again.

5 If I succeed in this noble aim, I will shelve this newfound knowledge for future use.

6 Hurrah!
