   GRADING

It is easy to do well in HPA 390.  The first thing you must understand is that you must do all the requirements and follow instructions.  It is a course that requires timeliness and accuracy, two of the components of professional performance.  It also requires consistent attendance, and keeping up to date with all assignments, also important to success in the workplace.

Points are earned for each assignment or Test..  You will also receive points for attending the professional etiquette dinner.  Students need to understand that, while I want them to do well, not all students receive A's.  If you have questions about assignments and what is expected you should address them in class.

In the workplace many papers and projects are written and rewritten.  It is important to leave enough time to have the opportunity to review and revise your work.   In the workplace it is not uncommon to work on papers or assignments over several days or weeks to make sure it represents your best work.  Students need to learn to approach academics with the same perspective rather than just sitting down and "knocking off" an assignment.

The points for the course will be distributed as follows:

 Auto-Sketch 150
 Resume 100
Tests X 4 - 1 50 each
150 total
Etiquette Dinner(not
scheduled for sure)
100
Presentation 200
Career Info Interview 150
TOTAL  850

Your actual points accrued will be converted to a percentage and grades will be assigned as follows:

A 93-100
A- 90-92
B+ 87-89
B 83-86
B- 80-82
C+ 77-79
C 73-76

A 65 - 73 will earn a "D" and below 65 will earn an "F".  Any grade below a "C" will cause the course to be repeated as a "C" is required in order to continue on to the Internship.
