Note: This demonstration provides an example of our work in progress on The Almanacks of Mary Moody Emerson: A Scholarly, Digital Edition. This 12-page excerpt is from an Almanack folder Emerson kept from approximately April through September 1827, and is based on the editors’ electronic transcriptions of the holograph manuscript.
The demonstration shows several features of the manuscript that have been encoded. These can be recognized as follows:
Original lineation and hyphenation has been retained, except when interupted by an annotation or textual note.
However, there are several limitations to this particular display, and several items are still in progress in this example of our XML encoding process, and have not yet been encoded in this demonstration:
