The mission of the Coal Utilization Center (CUC) is to advance the development of fuel utilization and environmental technologies into the 21st century. This development, which is occurring in an ever-changing atmosphere, mandates that energy resources be converted cleanly and efficiently in an environmentally and societally-accepted manner. The CUC is addressing these issues by conducting applied research and development through partnerships with industry and utilities, interactions with state and federal government agencies, and inter-laboratory and inter-disciplinary collaborations with University colleagues.
