I forget what this was, but isn't it lovely. it was, however, just up the street
from the little shop that sold windmill cookie molds, but that was shut
when we tried to go back to buy one (sob).

Digital film simply cannot capture the beauty of a sunset. This was one of the
most sublime sunsets I have seen in a long time - defines vermillion, in
fact - but as it is here, just a nice street scene. |

And finally, the whole raison d'etre for going to bruge (other than Belgian beer,
choclate and frites, fo course) is the medieval technology on display. Here
are only two of the four early-modern windmills on the NW city wall/berm,
and also a replica (perhaps 1/3 scale) of the famous Bruges quayside crane
made famous in Breughel's and others' paintings from the 15th century.
