(BIOLOGY AND POLITICS)

This is a call for papers and participation for Research Committee # 12 for one panel to be held at the 2005 American Political Science Association meeting, to take place September 1-4 in Washington , DC .

 

Paper proposals should be in the form of a detailed abstract, sent to both of the panel organizers. Those who are interested in serving as panel chair or discussant should also inform the organizers.

For paper proposals, topics within any area of biopolitics will be considered. The deadline for proposing a paper or proposing other forms of participation is December 31 st , 2004.

 

CALL FOR PAPERS: RESEARCH COMMITTEE # 12 PANELS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL POLITICAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION CONGRESS, 2006, FUKUOKA , JAPAN

Research Committee # 12 (Biology and Politics) is organizing up to four panels for the 2006 International Political Science Association (IPSA) meeting, to be held in Fukuoka, Japan, July 9-14, 2006. We invite proposals for papers as well as offers to serve as panel discussants and chairs.

As you perhaps know, the overall theme of the 2006 IPSA meeting is “Is Democracy Working?” We especially welcome proposals on the theme of “Biology, Democracy, and Nation-Building,” in line with the overall Congress theme. However, we also welcome other paper proposals, on subjects such as biology and public policy or biobehavioral approaches to the study of politics.

We project the structure of the Research Committee # 12 program as follows:

Panel # 2: Biology, Democracy, and Nation-Building: Panel 2

After having conducted an election of its international membership, a new Council has been elected. Please go to the page featuring the organizational structure of Research Committee 12. There was a tie for the final spot on the Council, so all of those who tied in the balloting were added to the Council.
