Ram Rajagopalan

Dr. Ramakrishnan Rajagopalan received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Warangal (India) in 1997. He then pursued his M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at University of Cincinnati and graduated in 2002. His doctoral dissertation was on electrosynthesis of conducting polymeric coatings for corrosion protection of metals. He came to Penn State to pursue his postdoctoral research in Department of Chemical Engineering and worked on synthesis and application of porous carbon materials in catalysis, gas adsorption and gas separation. In 2004, he joined as a Research Associate in Materials Research Institute and extended his research on developing carbon and polymeric materials for energy storage applications. He joined the Department of Engineering at Penn State, Dubois in 2014. His broad research interests include materials synthesis and study of interfacial phenomena of ion/charge transport in various electrochemical systems.
