NOTES ON GRADING

Each of the first 2 exams will be based on material covered since the previous exam. The final exam will be comprehensive.

There will be approximately 7-10 quizzes during the semester, which will be unannounced. The quizzes will be similar to homework problems, so it is important to stay current with your homework. Quizzes CAN NOT be made up at a later date.

Homework will be assigned for each chapter which will not be collected. 7-10 times during the semester, a more challenging problem will be assigned, collected, and graded.

All quizzes and homework will be graded on a scale of 0-10. Quizzes and homework will be averaged together, with the 1 lowest grade dropped.

Exams could possibly be made up at the discretion of the instructor upon presentation of a valid doctor's excuse of University authorized justification for the absence. If it is a planned absence, such as an athletic activity, notice must be given before the exam.
