Dr. Lipton is a faculty member in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn-State Lehigh Valley Campus and World Campus. Before becoming a full-time faculty member at PSU- LV, he was an adjunct instructor in the Penn-State University campus system for over 25 years. He has taught computer science, information sciences, information security, information technology, and Information systems (graduate and undergraduate) courses at the PSU- Schuylkill, PSU-Berks, PSU-Lehigh Valley and PSU-Harrisburg (Capital College) branch campuses.
Dr. Lipton was an Educational Technology Administrator at the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) in Berks County, Pennsylvania; servicing 70,000 students and 6500 professional staff in the 18 school districts of Berks County.
He is a certificated educator in the State of Pennsylvania and holds a Pennsylvania Instructional Technology Certificate, As well as several industry certifications including; Cisco’s CCNA and CCAI certifications.
Dr. Lipton earned is PhD. in computer science from Nova Southeastern University, His Masters of Science from Kutztown University in computer information science with a minor in information systems, and he holds two undergraduate degrees; one in computer science the other is in the social sciences from Penn-State University.
He has also taught graduate and undergraduate students (online and face-to-face) at 10 different colleges and universities and has developed several online courses used by Wilkes University Nova Southeastern University and the University of Maryland.
