I am the Campus Librarian for the Schuylkill
Campus of the
Pennsylvania State University. I have been with the university since
1983.
I work in the Ciletti Memorial Library, a building we modestly
believe to be the most beautiful and comfortable library in the
University Libraries System.
The Reading Room on the main floor, dominated by George
Luks' Painting of Necho Allen discovering Coal in Schuylkill County.
My work number is (570) 385-6238
E-mail is: MWL2@psu.edu
My family and I live in Deer Lake, a former resort town
seven miles south of Schuylkill Haven where the campus is located. I
am an active YA writer, like to hike and birdwatch, play the Highland
Bagpipe and build with LEGO. I have been, at one time or another, a
photographer, a media technician and media specialist, a spelunker
and a mountain climber. I served four years in the United States Air
Force (1967-1971) as a Photographic Services Officer. I have my BA
from Union College in Schenectady, New York (1967) and both a MS in
photojournalism (1974) and the MLS (1978) from the University of
Oregon in Eugene. I have been an academic librarian for over twenty
years and enjoy the work, the students and my teaching colleagues.
