Courses Taught:

English 005: Writing Center Tutoring, a once-a-week, one-credit course for individual students who would like extra help with their writing (primarily for English 015 students).

English 015: Rhetoric and Composition
, a writing and argumentation course required of almost all Penn State freshmen.


English 202D: Business Writing, one of four upper-level writing courses which students are required to take at least one of prior to graduating (the other three are Writing for the Social Sciences, Writing for the Humanities, and Technical Writing).  This course focuses on Business communication of various sorts: reports, emails, resumes, cover letters, memos, etc.

English 202C: Technical Writing, another of the four upper-level writing courses.  202C focuses on professional writing for a variety of audiences, with an emphasis on practical, user-friendly design.  Sample assignments include: an internet resource guide, a job application package, an instruction set.

Teaching with Technology:

The Teaching With Technology Program at Penn State encourages instructors to reflect on their use of technology in the classroom.  As incentive, it offers a non-credit certificate to those who demonstrate "the innovative use of technology in teaching."  Below are some of the materials required for obtaining this certificate.
