I am a teacher, a scholar, a writer, a technologist, a humanist, a Feminist, an Atheist, a Unitarian, and a gamer. I'm also not in the habit of updating this webpage frequently, so I hope you will forgive any out-of-date information posted here.

Research

My current research interests have developed around a fascination with three main things: the history of rhetoric, theories of audience and distribution, and the role of various media and writing technologies in shaping conventions and philosophies of rhetorical interaction. I am especially interested in Publics Theory (both the history and application thereof), periodic publication (from the newsbooks of the 1640s to the blogs of today...and everything in between), and theories of time (particularly space-time compression and social acceleration).
