Megatrends HX83 P166: MrBios 3.31 vs. AMI STE S6828T vs. AMI STE 5021

Micron EDO (2-32M Simms) Imagine 128-2 (4M VRAM) 2940UW Cheetah ST34501W(FAT32) OSR2

Note: At the 83MHz bus speed these BIOS versions offer similar performance. Despite a slight performance edge for the AMI BIOS, I prefer the MrBIOS for testing new configurations. Relative to AMI, MrBIOS gives more information regarding system board settings. On the other hand, the AMI versions allow extended tweaking. Thus, there is reason to consider using both BIOS version. Use MrBIOS to get the system roughed in and AMI BIOS to fine tune. However, at 83MHz bus speed, the easiest thing is to set Mr.BIOS to 55 or 60nS and be done with it. If your in to infinite tweaks consider using the AMI BIOS.
