Note: Considering the price of the PII300, the opportunity to OC the bus, and the performance, there is no apparent reason to buy the more expensive PPro200/512. The exception might be in a server application. There is a brief key for the charts at center top. The top 3 bars are for the Pro200/512. These results are for three different Matrox drivers. The bottom chart is for the PII. The PII test uses a Nine R3D. Thus, the graphics marks are not comparable. Usually, I don't compare results that were not run back to back or nearly so. In this case, I did not have a choice. I no longer have the Pro200/512 cpu. The configuraton is the same, with the exception of the graphics. The marks were run on the same FX83A. I was unable to test the Pro200/512 at 233 because I did not have the memory terminator board. I could get by at 200 but not at 233. OCing the Pro to 233 would have closed the gap a bit, but the PII300 would have still been considerably faster on these marks. November 2, 1997.
