Ken Tamminga

Professor of Landscape Architecture
The Pennsylvania State University
cow and me

Welcome.

Here you'll find an overview of my work in

landscape architecture and spatial planning.

I focus on design and ecology,
riparian urbanism,

green networks, emerging city landscapes, and

co-design with underserved communities.

Since 2005 I've collaborated on action research

in south Asia and Africa that fosters community /

landscape co-resilience in the face of
 climate

change and globalization
. During my recent

sabbatical I explored convivial greenstreets.

I teach several studios, seminars, and
field

courses
(see Teaching, below), with an emphasis

on community-engaged design and planning.
