Professor of Landscape Architecture
The Pennsylvania State University

cow and me

Welcome.

Here you'll find an overview of my work in

landscape architecture and spatial planning.

I focus on ecological design and restoration,

riparian urbanism
, green networks, and emerging

city landscapes.
Since 2005 I've collaborated on

action research
in south Asia and Africa that fosters

community / landscape co-resilience in the face

of
climate change and globalization. My recent

sabbatical explored convivial greenstreets.

I teach several studios and seminars and the

Ridge-and-Valley
field course (see Teaching,

below), with a
n emphasis on community-engaged

design and planning.
