I focus on ecological design and restoration,
riparian

urbanism
, green networks, and renascent city landscapes. 

Since 2005 I've collaborated on action research
in south

Asia and Africa
that fosters community / landscape

co-resilience in the face of
 climate change and

globalization
.

    I teach several studios and seminars at graduate

and undergraduate levels (see Teaching, below), with

a
n emphasis on community-engaged design and planning.
