Homework

Homework set are assigned after each lecture, as indicated on the course syllabus.  Students will complete the homework on line using the www.CourseCompass.com   website.  Students will be able to keep submitting solutions to the homework sets online until the assignment is past due.   The score for the homework assignment is then locked in.

Homework Grading

Generally each homework set is worth 3 course points.  There are 27 sets and the two lowest homework scores will be dropped.  This leaves a total of25 graded sets at 3 pts for each set, for a total of 75 course points for homework that is factored into the student’s grade.

The student receives 1,2, or 3 points for each assignment depending on the percentage of successfully completed homework problems for each set.   The scale is shown below:

     Percentage    Points

       25%                  1

       50%                  2

       75%                  3

Additionally, if a student completes 100% of the homework assignment accurately, s/he receives an additional bonus point for that set.

Academic integrity is expected, cheating will result in a zero issued for each offence.

Two offenses will mandate an F for the course.
