ROBERT ROBINSON

by Julian Heicklen

Robert Robinson AM8713 was transferred to the State Correctional Institution (SCI) in Greene County from SCI Greensburg on October 1, 1997. He was placed in Administrative Custody (AC) status in the Restricted Housing Unit (RHU). Here is a log of some of his experiences:

October 1, 1997: He was transferred from SCI Greensburg to SCI Greene. He was processed into intake, photographed and fed between 6:30 and 7:00 PM. He was handcuffed with his hands behind his back. Then he was escorted to RHU. He was taken to a room across from the Program Review Committee (PRC) hearing room by Correctional Officer (CO) Clovis and Sergeant Oddo. He was ordered to face the wall and not to turn around. Officer Clovis frisked him and fondled Robinson's penis while rubbing his own penis on Robinson's ass while searching him. Robinson protested in anger asking Clovis what the hell he was doing. Clovis responded that he was conducting a body search. Robinson told him that he cannot search him in this manner. Sergeant Oddo just laughed.

CO Clovis then told Robinson that he was going to take the handcuffs off and don't make any sudden moves or we have to beat your black ass down with our sticks. Officer Clovis then ordered Mr. Robinson to take off all of his clothes, one at a time, while facing him and Sergeant Oddo, which he did. When he was naked, Clovis said: "Damn you have a nice size cock." I am going to have give you a cavity search to make sure you do not have any contraband up your ass. Robinson informed Clovis and Oddo that they were not permitted to perform a cavity search on him. Someone from the medical department (doctor or nurse) is the only one allowed to do a cavity search on an inmate. (Department of Corrections (DOC) Inmate Handbook DC ADM 203 VII D states: "Internal examination of body cavities may be conducted only by a medical doctor or registered nurse, within the confines of the institutional dispensary or hospital.") Then Sergeant Oddo said that this is SCI Greene. We can do whatever we want here. CO Clovis then put some ointment on one of his fingers on which he had a rubber glove. Then he told Robinson to bend over and spread those fat ass cheeks of yours and he started laughing. CO Clovis stuck his finger in Robinson's rectum, moving it and out and asking if it felt good. Sergeant Oddo laughed about the whole thing

Robinson protested in anger, telling CO Clovis that he was hurting him. Clovis said shut up and stop crying like a bitch. Clovis told Robinson that this is how he would fuck him up his ass nice and slow, and Robinson would enjoy it too. Then Clovis told Oddo there is not any contraband up his ass. Sergeant Oddo laughed. Then Clovis pulled his finger out of Robinson's rectum and told Robinson to get dressed. Robinson was in severe pain, because he had a very bad hemorrhoid condition, and he was denied medical surgery since October 1996. He requested surgery repeatedly while at SCI Somerset, SCI Greensburg, and subsequently at SCI Greene, but he had been refused. He has had much pain and suffering.

October 2, 1997: Mr. Robinson sent Superintendent Varner and Major Duke a DC135A Inmate's Request informing them that he was sexually molested and assaulted on October 1, 1997. He never received a response, nor was there an investigation. He is not the only inmate that has had this experience. According to Robinson, it also happened to Wayne Ferell BA6272, who is in RHU because of sexual harassment with a staff member at SCI Greene. They are retaliating against him because he complained about what happened to him. He is on the same cell block as Robinson.

Robinson was seen by the Program Review committee (PRC). He was held on AC RHU status because his records were not available. He was told by the PRC that he had to be seen by Security before he could be released to general population.

October 4, 1997: Mr. Robinson sent and Inmate's Request DC135A to his counselor, Steve Turets, stating that he was transferred from SCI Greensburg on AC status. His disciplinary custody (DC) RHU time expired on September 11, 1997, but he is still being held in AC RHU for nothing.

October 6, 1997: Mr. Robinson wrote about his being held in AC RHU status to Captain Sparbanic, the Security Officer. Steve Turets came to see Robinson at 9:30 AM. He told Mr. Turets about the sexual assault. Mr. Turets asked if Robinson had filed a complaint. Robinson said yes. Turets said that there is nothing he could do. Let the administration deal with it. Robinson asked Mr. Turets when he would be released from AC RHU. Mr. Turets said that the staff had to review it. It could take a month or longer. Robinson received a letter dated October 4, 1997, from Mr. Turets stating that Robinson's records were received and that Robinson will meet with the PRC. Robinson received a response to the Request sent to Captain Sparbanic stating: "Guess what? Your records are here, and I don't see any reason to put you in general population."

October 7, 1997: Robinson went to court in connection with a lawsuit involving him. The RHU officers packed all of his personal belongings: soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, wash cloth, plus all his legal material.

October 14, 1997: Mr. Robinson returned from court between 1:00 and 1:30 PM. When he was returned to his cell, he was ordered to take off all of his clothes and give them to the COs. He asked when he would get his clothes back, as well as some sheets, a blanket, personal belongings, and legal papers. The CO said later on. At 6:00 PM, he asked CO Kadar, who was working in RHU, when his belonging would be returned. CO Kadar said the he would receive his personal belongings tomorrow, and don't ask me about your personal belongings any more, nigger, because we don't like your kind of people at SCI Greene.

October 15, 1997: At approximately 6:30 AM, Robinson explained to CO Rhodes, who was serving the morning meal, that he had no clothes or belongings. He had to sleep all night naked, freezing all night long. CO Rhodes told him I don't give a shit about you or your not having any clothes, sheets, or blankets. Nigger we hate your kind of people here at SCI Greene. At approximately 10:00 AM, Mr. Robinson asked CO Saunders if he could have a few DC135A Inmates Request forms and a sick-call slip, because he needed to see the doctor. Saunders replied: No I am not passing out supplies today you nigger and don't ask me again you asshole. At 8:15 PM, Robinson asked Sergeant Oddo when he will be given back his clothes. He told Sergeant Oddo that he was missing all of his clothes, sheets, blanket, personal belongings and legal papers. Sergeant Oddo responded: If you keep complaining about personal belongings, you will never receive your personal belongings, you nigger. We hate your kind of people here at SCI Greene.

October 16, 1997: At approximately 11:55 AM, CO Rhodes passed out supplies to inmates in the RHU: toilet paper, matches, cash slips. Robinson asked for a few DC135A Inmates Requests to Staff, Grievance form, and sick call slips, so he could sign up to see the doctor. CO Rhodes responded that there were no Inmate Request forms, Grievance forms, or sick-call slips. CO Rhodes said that you complain too much you nigger. Robinson asked a correctional officer on the 210 shift when he would get his clothes, sheets, blankets, and towels. Mr. Robinson also said that he had no soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, wash cloth, or any legal material. The CO said: So what, laughed, and walked away.

October 17, 1997: At approximately 3:00 PM, Mr. Robinson asked CO Kovalchuk when he would get his clothes, sheets, blankets, and towels. Kovalchuk replied: You might receive your personal belongings if you stop asking for them, you nigger. We hate your kind at SCI Greene. At approximately 9:00 PM, Mr. Robinson still had not received his clothes, sheets, blankets, towels or any of his personal belongings or legal material.

October 18, 1997: Mr. Robinson sent a Request to Lt Grainey explaining his situation. He had to sleep naked with no sheets, freezing all night long for a few days. He has no soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, wash cloth, or any legal material. He has asked repeatedly for his personal belongings. There was no response to this request.

October 19, 1997: At approximately 7:00 PM, Mr. Robinson asked CO Kovalchuk for his things. CO Kovalchuk said that he thought it was long enough that Robinson had been without his clothes, sheets, blankets, towels, and personal belongings. CO Kovalchuk returned everything.

October 20, 1997: Mr. Robinson sent a letter to Deputy Superintendents White and Stowitzky, and to the PRC concerning his continued AC status.

October 27, 1997: Mr. Robinson went to the yard between 6:30 and 6:45 AM after the morning meal. While he was in the yard, his cell was searched without him being present (against DOC regulations). His cell was left in disarray. He questioned one of the officers that made the search. The officer said I don't know and laughed. Robinson cleaned up his cell, returning the legal papers to their envelopes. Then CO Endres took Robinson to the shower. Robinson watched as Endres searched his cell. Endres threw Robinson's mattress, blanket, sheets, and pillow on the floor. He dumped all 8 of his legal envelopes onto his bunk, mixing all the legal material as if he was searching for something. Robinson asked Endres why he was wrecking his cell like that? Endres said that he had to search the cell. Robinson told Endres that his cell was searched while he was in the yard, and that the cell had been left in disarray. Endres said: So what, it was being searched again.

Between 9:30 and 9:45 am, Robinson's counselor, Steve Turets, came to see him. He told his counselor about the 2 searches. He also told Turets how the RHU COs are threatening to beat him with their sticks and continue to harass him every day since he arrived at SCI Greene. Mr. Turets told Robinson that he could do nothing about it. Mr. Robinson asked Turets if he would recommend that he be released to general population. Turets said: No, and walked away.

October 30, 1997: Mr. Robinson was seen by the PRC between 915 and 9:30 AM. The committee was Deputy Superintendent White, Inmate Program Manager Tom Seiverling, and Principal of Education Department Frank Newton. They felt that Robinson had not served enough hole time on both Misconduct Reports 772367 and 772370, and they were not releasing him to general population.

Between 7:15 and 7:30 PM, CO Kadar was changing inmates' toothbrushes. He asked if Robinson wanted a new one. Mr. Robinson responded: Yes. He turned in his toothbrush, which had a cut down handle, and asked for a full length toothbrush, which he was allowed because he was on AC status. CO Kadar said: No, I am giving you a cut-down handle toothbrush. He handed Robinson a smaller toothbrush than the one that Mr. Robinson returned. Mr. Robinson told CO Kadar that the toothbrush was too small to use. CO Kadar said: So what. I don't care. You are lucky you are getting this, and he walked away.

Robinson sent a DC135A Inmate Request to Superintendent Varner stating that he was being held illegally in RHU. He had been in RHU since December 13, 1996. He had DC time from December 19, 1996, until September 11, 1997. He claimed that his 8th and 14th amendment rights were being violated. He saw the PRC on October 30, 1997, and it felt that he had not spent enough time in RHU on Misconducts #772367 and #772370, even though the 180 days had been completed on September 11, 1997. No response to this request was received.

November 1, 1997: At approximately 9:00 AM, CO Endres entered B-pod and yelled: Cell cleaning. You want to clean your cell, turn on your light and stand at the door. Robinson did these things. Then CO Endres said: No, he was not cleaning Robinson's cell that day. CO Endres said that Robinson complains too much about everything, and he walked away. Mr. Robinson was denied access to cleaning supplies.

November 2, 1997: Between 7:15 and 7:30 PM, Sergeant Oddo, and COs Clovis, Gibson, and Kovalchuk came to his cell. Sergeant Oddo told him they were going to conduct a cell search and to put his hands out the food trap so he could be handcuffed. Sergeant Oddo, COs Clovis and Kovalchuk conducted the search while Robinson was ordered to stand outside the cell facing the wall with his hands cuffed behind his back. CO Gibson held him by the arm. After the search, Robinson asked Sergeant Oddo why he wrecked his cell and left it in disarray by throwing his mattress, sheets, blanket, and pillow on the floor and dumping all the legal material on his bunk and mixing it all up. Sergeant Oddo said that this is how a cell search is conducted and laughed. Mr. Robinson was returned to his cell, and the handcuffs were removed.

November 3, 1997: Between 7:45 and 8:00 AM, after the yard exercise, Mr. Robinson was allowed to shower. While Robinson was in the shower, CO Walters entered Robinson's cell and searched it as Mr. Robinson watched from the shower room. CO Walters threw Robinson's mattress, sheets, blanket, and pillow on the floor. He dumped all 8 envelopes of legal material on the bunk, mixing up all the material as if he was searching for something. Robinson asked Walters why he wrecked his cell. CO Walters said that he had to search the cell. Mr. Robinson told Walters that his cell was searched yesterday on the 210 shift by Sergeant Oddo and CO Kovalchuck. CO Walters said: So what, it was searched again today.

Between 9:30 and 9:45 am, Robinson's counselor, Steve Turets, came to see him. Mr. Robinson reported the searchings to Mr. Turets. Mr. Robinson then asked Mr. Turets why he was still in RHU. Mr. Turets replied that the PRC and Turets felt that Robinson had not served enough time, and that he would be there awhile in AC status. Mr. Turets said that he would not recommend release to general population soon. Mr. Robinson then told Mr. Turets that the COs continue to threaten to beat him with their sticks and to harass him. Mr. Turets said that there is nothing he can do about it. I have told you that already. You might as well get used to this kind of stuff. You'll have to adjust to it, OK. This is SCI Greene. We don't care anything about your rights being violated. Mr. Robinson says he has a witness for these remarks, but the witness is afraid that the PRC and COs will retaliate against him. The witness also is on AC status and trying to get released to general population.

November 4, 1997: Mr. Robinson sent an Inmate Request to Captain Sparbanic, the Security Officer, informing him how he was being treated. He stated that the COs on the 62 shift, Rhodes, Saunders, Endres, and Walters have been harassing him, searching his cell every time he leaves it, leaving it in disarray, threatening to beat him with their sticks, and calling him racial names. Mr. Robinson claimed that he has done nothing disrespectful to them. He explains that he is being held illegally in AC status, since his DC time expired on September 11, 1997. He says that he is still being punished for the two Misconduct's for which he already served time.

November 5, 1997: At approximately 7:30 AM, COs Saunders and Endres called: Showers up. Robinson stood by his door with the light on and towel and washcloth in hand. CO Saunders told him that he wasn't getting a shower today, you no-good nigger, and I don't give a fuck whom you complain to about this.

At 2:45 PM, Mr. Robinson asked CO Kadar for a replacement ink pen because the one he had stopped writing. CO Kadar said: No.

November 6, 1997: Mr. Robinson again asked CO Kadar for a replacement ink pen. CO Kadar said: I told you no yesterday and don't ask again.

November 7, 1997: At 7:55 AM, CO Saunders and another CO called showers up on B-pod. If you want one, stand by the door with your lights on. When Saunders reached Robinson's cell, he asked if Robinson wanted a shower. Robinson said: Yes, and grabbed his towel and washcloth and put his hands through the door trap to be handcuffed. While in the shower, Mr. Robinson watched as CO Saunders searched his cell. CO Saunders threw Robinson's mattress, sheets, pillow, and blanket on the floor. He dumped out all the legal material on the bunk and mixed it as if he was searching for something. Mr. Robinson asked Saunders why he wrecked his cell. CO Saunders replied that he could search the cell in any manner he wished. "Now if you keep running your mouth, I will go up the side of your head with this stick, you no-good nigger."

November 9, 1997: Between 7:15 and 7:30 AM, three COs on the search team cane to Robinson's cell and informed him that they were going to search his cell. He should go to the back of the cell when the door is opened. They searched his cell turning over his mattress and dumping his legal material on his bunk. Then Robinson signed a log book after the search.

November 10, 1997: At approximately 7:00 AM, CO Endres and another CO called: Showers up. When CO Endres reached Robinson's cell, he said: No you are not getting a shower today you smart ass, and I don't care who you complain to.

November 12, 1997: At approximately 7:10 AM, showers were called. CO Saunders asked Robinson, if he wanted on. Mr. Robinson said: Yes and was allowed to go. While Mr. Robinson was in the shower, CO Saunders searched Robinson's cell, throwing his mattress, sheets, pillow, and blanket on the floor. Then CO Saunders dumped out all the legal material on the bunk. Mr. Robinson asked why he keeps wrecking his cell and leaving it in disarray. CO Saunders replied that he had to search Robinson's cell every time he left it. Mr. Robinson told Saunders that he was not allowed to search his cell like that. Saunders replied: This is SCI Greene. We can do whatever we want here and get away with it as well.

November 16, 1997: At approximately 2:30 PM, Mr. Robinson asked CO Kadar for a replacement ink pen. CO Kadar said: No, you asshole.

November 17, 1997: At approximately 7:15, CO Saunders and another CO called showers up. When Saunders reached Robinson's cell, he asked Robinson if he wanted a shower. Robinson said yes. While Mr. Robinson was in the shower, CO Saunders searched Robinson's cell in the usual manner. When Mr. Robinson complains, CO Saunders answers Robinson's query with: "He will search his cell any time he gets ready and wreck it every time. And if you keep running your mouth, I will beat your black ass, nigger. You know we don't like your kind of people here at SCI Greene."

November 20, 1997: Superintendent Ben Varner still has not responded to the Inmate Request dated October 30, 1997, concerning Robinson being held in punitive segregation on AC status. Also Captain Sparbanic has not responded to the Inmate Request of November 4, 1997, concerning harassment and cell searches and why he is being held in punitive segregation on AC status.

November 23, 1997: At approximately 7:15 AM, CO Saunders was working in the control center. He spoke over Robinson's intercom threatening him and calling him all kinds of niggers, and that he was going to beat Robinson's black ass with his blackjack stick.

November 24, 1997: At approximately 7:48 AM, CO Schwartz and another CO called showers up. When Schwartz reached Robinson's cell, he said: No you are not getting a shower today you nigger. You like filing paperwork on RHU officers, and you can complain about this, because I don't care nigger.

At approximately 9:00 am, Mr. Robinson was searched by CO Powell before going to see the PRC. CO Powell fondled Robinson's penis and squeezed his buttocks and laughed about it. Mr. Robinson protested in anger. CO Powell told him to shut up before I beat your black ass, nigger. Mr. Robinson was handcuffed while this happened. He was then seen by the PRC (White, Seiverling, and Newton). They informed Robinson that he still had not served enough RHU time on both Misconducts #772367 and 772370. As far as they are concerned, they are never going to release him to general population, because he does not have anything coming here at SCI Greene. Deputy White told Robinson that he should have never written that threatening letter to Governor Ridge you stupid ass Nigger. Mr. Robinson told the PRC that he never wrote the letter to Ridge, and that he was falsely accused of that and another Misconduct Report. He added that he already served the 180 days required for those offenses, which expired on September 11, 1997. Now he is being punished more for something he did not do in the first place. He told the PRC that his rights are being violated according to DOC Inmate Handbook Rules and Regulations and the L. C. U. consent decree. Deputy Superintendent White responded that we don't even go by the DCAdm 802 Inmate Handbook. This is SCI Greene County. We make our own rules, and we can do whatever we want here. Deputy White then told Robinson: We don't care anything about your rights being violated. You're at SCI Greene, and we run this institution the way we want to here, and if you don't like the way we run this institution, you can file a lawsuit you smart ass nigger. Deputy White then told the COs to get Robinson out of the PRC hearing room.

November 28, 1997: At approximately 8:25 AM, COs Endres and Putman called showers up. CO Putman told Robinson: You are not getting a shower today you nigger. You like writing threatening letters to Governor Ridge. I know all about you.

December 2, 1997: At 12:30 PM, CO Putman was working in the control center. On Robinson's intercom CO Putman threatened Robinson by calling him all kinds of nigger, and stating that he was in Klan-Land of the Klu Klux Klan. He threatened to beat Robinson's black ass with his stick.

December 3, 1997: At approximately 7:20 AM, COs Endres and Saunders called for showers up. When CO Saunders reached Mr. Robinson's cell, Saunders told Robinson that he was not getting a shower today you nigger, and he went to the next cell.

December 8, 1997: At approximately 7:30 AM, COs Endres and Rhodes called showers up. When Rhodes came to Robinson's cell, he told Robinson that he was not getting a shower today you no-good nigger, and he went to the next cell.

December 10, 1997: At approximately 7:15 AM, CO Saunders and another CO called: Showers up. CO Saunders told Robinson that he was not getting a shower today, you nigger, and he went to the next cell.

Mr. Robinson sent an Inmate Request to Superintendent Varner and Major Duke. He informed them that he was being sexually harassed and that this was an ongoing thing. The COs on the 62 shift have been denying him showers, repeatedly searching his cell whenever he leaves his cell, throwing his mattress, sheets, and blanket on the floor, and dumping all of his legal material, mixing it up. The RHU COs tell him that this is SCI Greene, and that they can do whatever they want to do to inmates. The COs call him racial names and threaten to beat him with their sticks. He repeatedly requested Grievance forms from the RHU sergeant, who refuses to issue him any at all. No response was received.

December 12, 1997: At approximately 7:30 AM, CO Walters and another CO called showers up. CO Walters told Robinson that he was not getting a shower today, you smart ass and he went to the next cell.

Between 11:00 and11:15 am, the RHU officers were feeding B-pod. Robinson's drinking cup was placed on his food trap, which was open. He picked up his bread and drinking cup, set it on his sink, so he could receive his food tray. He received his food tray and removed it from the food trap and set it on his desk in his cell. He went back to the door to receive juice. A that time, CO Irey locked the food trap, saying that he was not at the door to receive his juice. He informed Irey that he set his food tray on his desk. Irey said: I don't care you piece of shit, you are still not getting any juice, asshole. CO Irey went to the next cell. At that time, CO Powell asked Irey what was going on with him and Robinson. Irey told Powell. Powell then said: Fuck him, because he ain't nothing but a nigger anyway. This is how we treat all of them. Then he walked away laughing.

December 17, 1997: At approximately 7:15 AM, CO Saunders and another CO called showers up. When CO Saunders reached Mr. Robinson, he said you are not getting a shower today you nigger, and he went to the next cell.

December 19, 1997: At approximately 7:10 AM, CO Endres and another CO called showers up. When Saunders reached Robinson's cell he told him that he was not getting a shower today, you smart ass, and he went to the next cell.

Between 6:15 and 6:30 PM, Mr. Robinson was ordered by CO Kadar to pack all of his personal belongings, because he was being moved from F-block, B- pod, B3 cell to A-pod, cell A17. When Mr. Robinson arrived at the new cell, there was no mattress, pillow, sheets, blanket, or towel in the cell. Mr. Robinson informed the CO that had placed him in the cell. The CO assured him that he would get those things, and he left. A little while later Sergeant Green came and put a door tag on his cell with his name and number on it. Robinson informed Green about the lack of the above items. Green said that he would receive them later on and left. He never received any of the items. He had to sleep all night long without the above, freezing until the next morning.

December 20, 1997: At approximately 8:00 AM, Mr. Robinson received the mattress, sheet, blanket, pillow, and a towel. At 9:00 AM, he was seen by the PRC. He was informed that he was not being released from RHU. So he asked for his TV, and his request was granted.

December 22 1997: PRC action continued AC status. Signed by T. Seiverling, Major James F. Hassett, and J. C. Hewitt.

January 22 1998: PRC action stated that Robinson requested release to population. Request denied. Signed by T. Seiverling, J. C. Hewitt, Major Sparbanic.

February 2, 1998: At approximately 11:45 AM two officers called showers up. If you want one, stand by your door with your light on. When CO (unknown, but first 2 letters of his last name are Ab) reached his cell C1 on C-pod, Robinson was standing at his door with the lights on, towel and wash cloth in hand. He was handcuffed and escorted to shower #2 across from his cell C1 on the bottom range. Robinson watched from the shower while the CO entered his cell and searched it. He threw his mattress, blankets, sheets, pillow on the floor. He dumped all 12 of his legal envelopes on the bunk. He mixed up all of his legal material. He started reading his legal material and came across Request DC135A. On the back of this, Robinson had written what had happened to inmate Tyrone Betrand. When Robinson came out of the shower, the CO told Robinson that he was confiscating the Request slip because it had Betrand's name on it. He was issued a Confiscation Items Receipt #959046.

On the same day, at approximately 1:30 PM Sergeant Jones, CO Gess and two other COs with sticks from the search team came to his cell and informed Robinson that they were going to do a cell search. Robinson informed them that his cell had just been searched earlier. He just finished cleaning his cell and putting everything in place. Sergeant Jones said that he doesn't give a shit, we are searching again. Robinson was cuffed tightly. He informed Sergeant Jones that the cuffs were too tight. Sergeant Jones said so what and if he keeps running his mouth off, he will beat his black ass you nigger. The other 3 COs started laughing.

The 3 COs searched his cell while Mr. Robinson was outside with Sergeant Jones. They threw his mattress, sheets, blanket on the floor. Then they dumped all of his legal material on his bunk and mixed it all up. They came across some Grievances and Misconducts, one of which had inmate Darryl Gray's name on it. When asked about it, Robinson said that he was helping Gray with his legal work. Jones told Robinson that they do not tolerate that here. Jones told Robinson that the COs could assault him for that and get away with it. This is SCI Greene, we can do anything we want to you. Sergeant Jones then told Robinson that the administration is getting tired of Robinson writing to outside organizations complaining about what is going on. Robinson never received a response from any organization. He thinks that the prison is intercepting his mail. After the search, Robinson's cell was in disarray, he signed a log book, and they took the document with Gray's name on it. He was not given a confiscated items receipt. He cleaned up his cell putting everything back in place.

On the same day at approximately 2:10 PM, 2 more COs came back to his cell and informed him that it would be searched again. Robinson informed the COs that his cell had been searched twice already today. One of the COs said so what, we are going to search it again. One of the COs said to put his hands through the food tray so that they could handcuff him, you asshole. The search was repeated. Robinson complained that this was the 3rd search today, and that he was being harassed. The COs said that Captain Grainey ordered the search. At the end of the search, Robinson did not sign the log book, and nothing was taken this time.

At approximately 2:28 PM, his counselor, Steve Turets, came to his cell. Robinson informed Turets of the events of the day. Turets told him that if he stopped writing all of these letters, maybe these things would stop happening to him. Then Turets left.

February 11, 1998: In a letter of February 11, 1998, Mr. Robinson informed me that he had received the rest of his personal property from SCI Greensburg. He was charged to have it shipped to him. He was charged again to send it home, because he was not allowed to keep it in the prison. He was not allowed to keep any personal clothes.

February 19 1998: PRC action stated "Requests release to populationÑ denied." Signed by T. Seiverling, J. C. Hewitt, and Sparbanic.
