Mission Statement: The mission of the Penn State Christian Faculty/Staff Fellowship is to encourage Christian faculty and staff, to equip them for ministry and outreach to students and colleagues, and to pray for the University community.
Spring 2010 Schedule
Who we are
- We are a group of men and women employed at
The Pennsylvania State University,
who are convinced that Jesus Christ
provides intellectually and spiritually satisfying
answers to life's most challenging questions.
- We believe that the
Bible
is God's Holy Word, wherein one can find the truth,
as summarized in our
Statement of Faith.
- We are nondenominational, not affiliated with any particular church,
or with any particular department or college in
the University; We presently have over 200 Penn State faculty and
staff on our mailing list,
representing a broad spectrum of the University.
- We are loosely affiliated with the national organization,
Faculty Commons (formerly Christian Leadership Ministries),
a division of
Campus Crusade for Christ International.
What we do
- We hold weekly
Lunch Fellowship Meetings
to provide a format for fellowship, prayer, and
intellectually stimulating discussions
about the Bible and topics related to working at the University.
- We sometimes sponsor full and half-page advertisements in the
Penn State student newspaper, The Daily Collegian,
in order to show students that there are Christian faculty and staff
at this university.
- We encourage Christian faculty and staff to serve as
Christian
role models to their students and colleagues at the University.
- We occasionally conduct workshops on various topics, through which
Christian faculty and staff learn more about being effective
ambassadors for Jesus Christ on a secular campus.
- We occasionally invite special speakers to talk to us about topics of interest
to Christian faculty and staff.
- We occasionally have breakfast, lunch, or dinner get-togethers for fun and fellowship
with other Christian faculty and staff and their families.
- We provide a
Speakers Directory
of Christian faculty and staff who
are available to speak to churches, student groups, etc.
- We post
Articles and write-ups
submitted by our members, and we post Links to other
sites of interest to Christian faculty and staff.
