I'm a professor of English at Penn State, specializing in rhetoric and composition, scientific and technical communication, and the work of Kenneth Burke. (That's Mr. Burke, with Charlie Mann, me, and Rosa Eberly, in the photo above, which was taken when we visited Mr. Burke at his home in Andover, NJ in 1993.) From this web page, you can get information on my publications, on my academic experience, and on the rhetoric group here at Penn State.
I also currently serve as Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts, in charge of graduate and undergraduate education. You can access information about programs and instruction in Penn State's College of Liberal Arts here. And I am directing the 2005 Penn State Conference on Rhetoric and Composition, which will also serve as the Triennial Conference of the Kenneth Burke Society.
