Over the course of the semester, we will be working with a set of cases that provide examples that support each class project and the class presentation. The DCo.xls case illustrates the steps that need to be followed in in reconstructing an economic history for a business.

The CiscoS1.xls file contains the core financial information for Cisco Systems for the year ended July 31, 1999 that is included in chapters 1 through 5. The CiscoS1.1.xls file contains the core financial information for the year ended July 29, 2000. The RyderS1.xls file contains my reconstruction of the economic activity affecting Ryder System Inc. for the year ended December 31, 2001. The Ryder case is the most current and may provide the best template for your teams to modify for your own companies. However, all of the cases, including D Co. may be used as templates.

The toystory.pdf file represents the final version of the excellent CPI submitted by Team 4. It will be the standard that I I wll use as the benchmark for assessing the quality of all other team revisions for CPI.

The CiscoS2.1.xls file contains the updated financial information for Cisco Systems (1996 and 2001) that pertain to chapters 6 through 13 of the book. Even though there are numerous sheets in the file, all of the analysis is driven off of the "FS" and "FS2" sheets.

The NucorS2.xls file contains the financial information for the Nucor Corporation (1996 and 2001) that follows the logic underlying chapters 6 through 13 of the book. We will be using Nucor to illustrate the approach that you should be taking to analyze your two companies. The NucorHoovers.pdf file canteens a profile of the Nucor Corporation from the Hoover's web site. You should access Hoover's through the online resources of the Business library. The NucorVL.pdf file contains a one-page Value Line summary of the company for the last 11 years with selected data for the last 17 years. You can also access Value Line through the Business Library web site. Both web sites might provide you with information that will help you develop your storyline for CPII.

The CiscoS3.xls file contains the financial information about Cisco's executive compensation program, the market performance of Cisco's common stock, and the fees paid to the independent auditors. The Cisco.Def14a.02.doc, Cisco.Def14a1.02.doc, Cisco.Def14a.02.xls, and Cisco.Def14a1.xls files provide the raw materials that I used to create the CiscoS3.xls file.

The Nucor.Def14a.02.doc, Nucor.Def14a.02.xls, REY.Def14a.02.doc, and REY.Def14a.02.xls files will be used in class to build a NucorS3.xls file and a REY.S3.xls file.
