xedit runs under Xwindows and therefore, if you are using Xwindows, it is quite handy. In addition, you can expect to find it on virtually all unix workstations (no matter who makes the computers). To learn more about xedit use the unix man command. Whenever you are logged onto a unix computer you can just type:
man xedit
vi is also available on virtually all unix workstations. It is worth
learning at least enough basic vi commands so that you can always alter
text files on any Unix machine..
