In order to link your psu webpage to your project using SeaMonkey:
1. Download SeaMonkey. You can find it using google --
SeaMonkey Download.
2. Have your project folder on the desktop of your computer. Be sure it
contains the first page of your project.
3. Open your homepage in SeaMonkey and then underfile choose the
option,
edit file.
4. Under Format you can
choose a Text Color and a Font Size. Then choose a location on
your webpage and type something on the order of --
Link to Earth
002 Project using systems analysis to investigate the future of the red
knot.
5. Highlight what you have typed.
6. Click on the link button or go to
Insert and choose Link. In the space for the link address type in
project/XXXX XXX = the name of page 1 of your project. In
this example it is -- homepage. (Caution, html is case sensitive and does
not like blank spaces in the page names.)
7. Save your home page -- be
sure it is named index.html. That is the page that opens when you
open you psu webpage.
8. Use the Browse button to see if your link works.
9. Open your Pass Explorer on the PSU Portal (or open Pass
Explorer directly to your laptop which is better if you can do
it). Upload your home page as index.html to the folder -- www --
on Pass Explorer. If you have not uploaded your project folder do
so now. Reopen your home page using
www.personal.psu.edu/.... Check to make sure that your link works
on the web.
I found that if I used the simple save button, the file was saved in
some wierd folder. If you use save as, you can save to the
desktop each time and it will be easier to work with.
